Oriental and Fine Area Rug Cleaning
Protect your investment with oriental and area rug cleaning. Oriental and Area rugs complete a room's look by adding warmth, color and texture to a space. Depending on a room's layout and furniture placement, your rugs can be exposed to heavy foot traffic. Keep your area rugs looking beautiful by calling Benchmark to schedule them for regular cleaning!
For your convenience, we can hand clean most rugs in your home. In some cases there may be a need to take the rug offsite for a more in depth cleaning. In both cases, we take care of the entire process, whether it be moving furniture to hand clean on site, or rolling the rugs during our free pickup and delivery service for offsite cleaning.
Our 6 Step Cleaning Process:
Step 1: Initial Inspection
Before any cleaning begins, we inspect the rugs thoroughly to determine whether the rug is handmade or machine made. If it is determined that the rug is handmade, we would continue on with our 6 step hand cleaning process. If the rug is machine made, it can most often be cleaned with our normal carpet cleaning process. It is during this step that we determine whether or not the rug can be cleaned on site or needs to be taken back to our office for a more in depth cleaning.
Step 2: Color Fastness Test
An inconspicuous area of the rug is then tested with our cleaning shampoo to ensure it is safe to clean.
Step 3: Thorough Vacuuming
We thoroughly vacuum the rug to remove solid dirt, dust and topical pet hair.
Step 4: Pre-Spot/Pre-Spray
Any spots, spills, traffic areas and areas of concern are pre-sprayed with an enzyme designed to release embedded soils and prepare for cleaning.
Step 5: Hand Cleaning
We hand clean every inch of the rug with a specially formulated dry foam shampoo which contains a deodorizer as well as optimal color brighteners. Hand cleaning is completed with a nylon bristled shampoo brush or a sponge depending on the material your rug was made with. Hand cleaning also allows us to get deep into the rug fibers, pulling any embedded dust, dirt, hair and other contaminants out.
Step 6: Final Grooming
Our final step is to groom the rug with a nylon pile lifter. This step lifts and separates the fibers giving them luster and fluffiness and leaving a nice finished appearance.
